Camping

Sleep under the stars, wake to the sound of birdsong and spend your days amongst the trees, on the trails and in the mountains. At Curral do Negro, camping remains a simple and authentic way to experience Nature, in the heart of the Serra da Estrela.

Space and shade

The camping areas are spread across wooded areas, with natural shade provided by birch, oak, arbutus, pine and other species characteristic of the Serra da Estrela. There are also more open spaces for those who prefer the sun and sweeping views of the mountains.

Caravans and motorhomes

The areas designated for caravans and motorhomes are located close to water and electricity points and are spread across different levels of the site, preserving the sense of space and tranquillity.

Tents

Spread across different levels of the park, the tent areas offer spaces in the sun or in the shade. As there are no fixed pitches, you are free to choose the spot that best suits your stay.

Pets

Small pets, such as dogs and cats, may be allowed provided they are accompanied by their owners and subject to certain conditions. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us before making your booking.

Camping and caravanning 

Situated at an altitude of around 1,000 metres on the northern slope of the Serra da Estrela, Curral do Negro is a place to experience nature at your own pace. Surrounded by trees and offering sweeping views of the mountains, the site provides a peaceful setting all year round, combining the freedom of traditional camping with the essential amenities for a comfortable stay.

In the warmer months, the altitude, abundant shade and swimming pool provide a pleasant refuge from the summer heat. On colder days, the park’s bar and café become a cosy spot to relax by the warmth of the wood-burning stove, enjoy a hot drink, read a book or simply savour the tranquillity of the mountains.

Comfort and facilities

The park features bathrooms, water points, electricity hook-ups (16 A), barbecues, a swimming pool, a bar and a café, as well as a range of leisure and social areas. The wooded surroundings provide natural shade during the summer, whilst the existing facilities allow visitors to enjoy the Serra da Estrela in comfort at any time of year.

Accommodation and stay options

In addition to the camping and caravan areas, Curral do Negro provides different accommodation solutions. Visitors can choose wooden Cabins in glamping style, or Casa Curral do Negro, a cozy stone house with capacity for up to five people. Whether you look for an experience closer to nature or a greater level of comfort, we will be happy to help you find the most suitable option.
